Organized in 1896, the North Carolina Society is the oldest state society in our nation's capital. The object of this society is to bring together in its membership men and women from the State of North Carolina; to foster acquaintance and friendship among its members through social entertainment; to stimulate and strengthen patriotism, pride of citizenship and loyalty to the Nation and to the State of North Carolina, its traditions and institutions. The Society shall be non-political and non-sectarian. No partisan political affairs shall be discussed at any meeting of the Society.
The North Carolina Society is a member of the National Conference of State Societies.
